REPORT: Baby Girl Shot In Stroller As Female Suspect Pushing It Left During Apparent Feud-Filled Shooting Chaos

A Tuesday shooting at a shopping mall led to a 1-year-old girl getting shot in a stroller and the female suspect reportedly pushing it fleeing the scene, according to a Florida sheriff.

A male-female couple entered a shop around 1:23 to 1:24 p.m. and were confronted by three suspects who emerged from a black Mercedes upon exiting minutes later, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Sheriff Wayne Ivey alleged. The exchange of gunfire allegedly started at around 1:26 p.m. with the girl in the stroller stuck in the middle of the incident. Authorities are unsure who first but the BCSO has “great security footage that will narrow that down for us,” according to the sheriff.

“The female subject was pushing the baby stroller, actually left the baby there, ran away, and then after the shooting had stopped, came back,” Ivey said, ClickOrlando.com reported.

Iver alleged that fifty rounds were fired off from multiple directions. “One of those rounds struck the two-year-old female baby in the pelvic area,” the sheriff remarked in his press statement. The BCSO later clarified that the girl was one year old, ClickOrlando.com reported. The girl was hospitalized and is in stable condition. Ivey said that the gunfire was “apparently over some kind of ongoing feud they were having” but are still investigating the matter. He added that law enforcement had taken the male suspect who was with the female into custody and were searching for three additional suspects.

Deputies said law enforcement took the male suspect into custody on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor, according to ClickOrlando.com.
