REPORT: Israel Bombs Iranian Leaders Voting On Next Supreme Leader

Israel reportedly bombed a compound full of Iran’s Assembly of Experts in Qom while they were voting for a new Supreme Leader.

“The Iranian Supreme Council was counting the votes to appoint the next Supreme Leader when Israel struck the meeting location,” Fox News Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst said on X.

Members of the assembly were reportedly counting votes before the strike.

An Israeli defense source confirmed the bombing to The Times of Israel.

Iran is being run by a three-man council made up of President Masoud Pezeshkian, Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei and Ayatollah Alireza Arafi from the Guardian Council, the New York Post reported. (RELATED: Trump Says US Decapitated Iranian Leadership As They Ate Breakfast)

The assembly warned that choosing a successor “won’t take long,” the New York Post reported, citing Iran’s ISNA news agency.

President Donald Trump told reporters Tuesday that the most recent strikes in Iran have focused on eliminating the regime’s leadership.

“There was another hit today on the new leadership, and it looks like that was pretty substantial,” he said. “So they’re getting hit very hard.” (RELATED: European Ally Turns Back On US For China Over Iran War)

Forty-nine Iranian officials, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed over the weekend, CNN reported.
