REPORT: Martin Short’s Daughter, Katherine, Dead By Apparent Suicide

Martin Short’s daughter Katherine reportedly died by suicide at the age of 42.

Law enforcement officials said that Katherine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a report published Tuesday by TMZ. Members of the Los Angeles Police Department and fire department were dispatched to Katherine’s Hollywood Hills home Monday at approximately 6:40 pm, where she was found deceased, according to TMZ.

The circumstances surrounding her death were not publicly disclosed.

Katherine was Short’s adopted daughter. She worked as a social worker in Los Angeles and held a bachelor’s degree from NYU as well as a master’s in social work from USC. She was passionately involved in a charity called Bring Change 2 mind – an organization dedicated to raising awareness to mental health issues.

She was the eldest child of Short and his wife of 30 years, Nancy Dolman. Dolman sadly passed away in 2010. (RELATED: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Eric Dane Dead At 53)

Short is scheduled to appear on stage with Steve Martin Saturday in Minneapolis, but it’s not clear if he will maintain his schedule following this tragedy.
