REPORT: Patrick Mahomes’ Dad Allegedly Can’t Stop Drinking, Ends Up Behind Bars Again

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is once again in jail after he allegedly violated his probation conditions that stemmed from his DWI in 2024.

Mahomes Sr. allegedly drank alcohol, something that was prohibited in his probation in Texas, according to District Attorney Jacob Putman who spoke with KLTV.

A former Major League Baseball player who suited up for multiple teams such as the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox, the 55-year-old was booked Tuesday into Smith County Jail. (RELATED: Tennessee’s Joey Aguilar Slaps NCAA With Lawsuit Over Extra Year Of Eligibility: REPORT)

The father of Mahomes has been serving a probation sentence of five years following a guilty plea to the ’24 DWI.

When the DA spoke with KLTV, he informed them that Mahomes Sr. is able to challenge the claims against him through a hearing, however, there doesn’t appear to be one scheduled, according to court records.

According to TMZ, Mahomes Sr. has been placed under arrest for DUI at least three times, most recently in 2024 that took place right before the Super Bowl between his son’s Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Kansas City would go on to win that game.

After being pulled over Feb. 3, 2024 and recording a 0.23 BAC in Tyler, Texas, Mahomes Sr. was arrested.
