RFK Jr. Makes Major Vaccine Announcement, Calls Out Bill Gates’ GAVI [WATCH]

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Saturday that thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative long used in flu vaccines administered to children and pregnant women, has now been completely banned in the United States.

The decision follows more than two decades of advocacy from Kennedy, who has publicly campaigned for its removal from vaccines.

“I’m proud to finally deliver on a long-overdue promise: protecting our most vulnerable from unnecessary mercury exposure,” Kennedy wrote in a post on X.

His accompanying video statement detailed the decision and criticized federal health agencies for their decades-long approval of the preservative.

Thimerosal contains ethylmercury and was used as a preservative in multi-dose vaccine vials.

Despite mounting studies identifying it as a neurotoxin, Kennedy stated that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had continued to allow its use in flu shots given to pregnant women and young children.

Kennedy cited peer-reviewed studies and federal documentation that classified thimerosal as a neurotoxin, carcinogen, mutagen, and reproductive toxicant.

“The amount of ethylmercury in the flu shot that CDC just banned under my order is 25,000 times the EPA’s safety level for drinking water,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy also referenced prior testimony from William Egan, a former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official, who in 2001 told Congress that thimerosal had never been formally studied for safety in humans.

He further noted that a subsequent study found the mercury compound can remain in brain tissue for over 27 years.

He cited a CDC-funded 2017 study that found women who received a flu shot during pregnancy were 7.7 times more likely to miscarry within 28 days.

Kennedy also pointed to a separate 2017 study published in JAMA Pediatrics, which reported a higher likelihood of autism spectrum disorders in children whose mothers had received a flu shot during their first trimester.

“Why were we injecting this toxin into babies and pregnant women?” Kennedy asked in his statement.

“Federal and state laws classify expired thimerosal vaccines as hazardous waste. Yet they were good enough to put into your bloodstream?”

Kennedy stated that despite being labeled an “anti-vaxxer” by pharmaceutical industry supporters and various media outlets, he had never relented in pushing for the removal of mercury from vaccines.

“I’ve spent 20 years trying to get mercury out of vaccines,” he said.

“I spent four years trying to get mercury out of fish, and nobody called me anti-fish.”

The CDC’s updated recommendation to eliminate thimerosal was approved in June and took effect last week.

According to Kennedy, flu vaccines will continue to be available in mercury-free, single-dose vials.

Manufacturers have confirmed their ability to meet current demand without the use of toxic preservatives.

Kennedy credited President Donald Trump for initiating reforms within federal health agencies.

“This is the start of a broader movement to restore public trust in our health institutions,” Kennedy stated.

“President Trump’s leadership in remaking the FDA and CDC has turned them back into watchdogs for the American people.”

Kennedy also addressed international health policy, urging global health organizations to follow the CDC’s lead.

He specifically called on the World Health Organization and GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, to halt the use of mercury-containing vaccines in developing countries.

“We urge the World Health Organization and GAVI to stop their programs of injecting mercury into more than 100 million Black and brown babies in developing countries annually,” Kennedy said.

The statement follows a recent $1.6 billion pledge by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to GAVI.

Gates had criticized recent U.S. foreign aid cuts attributed to budget changes under the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk.

Gates has warned that the cuts would lead to additional global child mortality and last month accused Musk of “killing the world’s poorest children.”

Kennedy’s announcement marks a significant milestone in the debate over vaccine safety and transparency.

“This decision sends a clear message,” he said.

“The days of ignoring the science are over. The days of putting profits ahead of people are over.”
