Rick Moranis Set To Team Up With Bill Pullman On Classic Remake: REPORT

Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis will reportedly reprise their roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming “Spaceballs” film.

Moranis is set to make a comeback after leaving the world of entertainment for decades, making this a special announcement for fans, sources told Deadline. The famous actor lent his talents to timeless classics such as “Ghostbusters,” “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” He then largely stepped away from Hollywood to raise his children after the passing of his wife.

Sources close to the situation said Keke Palmer is also tapped for the project. The first film’s director and star, Mel Brooks, will reportedly appear as Yogurt, but the sequel’s plot and the character details for Palmer remain strictly confidential.

Sources that have yet to view the script described the feature as “A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.”

Josh Greenbaum is poised to direct the upcoming film, which will be written by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad, who comes in as a “triple threat” by also starring and producing.
