The left’s embrace of violence has reached the edge of the cliff.
“The ultimate source of political power is, and always will be, violence,” George Mason University graduate student Nicholas Decker posted, promoting his recent Substack titled “When Must We Kill Them?”
Decker is working on his PhD in economics, but his post had nothing to do with President Trump’s economic policy. Instead, it was a fantasy piece about the left murdering Trump administration officials, including Trump, over some perceived attack on Americans’ freedom.
“Evil has come to America,” Decker said. “The present administration is engaged in barbarism; it has arbitrarily imprisoned its opponents, revoked the visas of thousands of students, imposed taxes upon us without our consent, and seeks to destroy the institutions which oppose it.”
“Its leader has threatened those who produce unfavorable coverage, and suggested that their licenses be revoked. It has deprived us, in many cases, of trial by jury; it has subjected us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and has transported us beyond seas to be imprisoned for pretended offenses. It has scorned the orders of our courts, and threatens to alter fundamentally our form of government. It has pardoned its thugs, and extorted the lawyers who defended its opponents,” he continued.
The ultimate source of political power is, and always will be, violence. If the present administration should continue on its course, there is no choice but war. I say this out of sorrow — when must we kill them? pic.twitter.com/8GHdl23aRO

Decker’s feelings about the Trump administration are widely accepted as fact by many on the left and perpetuated by the media class, who suffer from Trump-hatred to such a degree that they openly call for “action in the streets” to push back. (Sign up for Mary Rooke’s weekly newsletter here!)
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, now a senior political commentator for CNN, claimed that Trump has put America into “uncharted territory,” where the only course of action is to “take to the streets.”
The Bullwork’s Will Saletan argued just weeks before the November election that there wasn’t much time to stop Trump before he throws the country “deeper into autocracy.” He went on an 18-bullet point rant about Trump’s “embrace” of fascism, fanning the fires of hatred with dark rhetoric that could incite mentally ill people into action.
They’ve whipped an entire sect of the American far left into believing a dystopian reality where Trump is a fascist dictator willing to lock his political opponents in prison. The end result is that the far left is now not just advocating for protesting, but for an actual war on American soil.
“Protest is useful only insofar as it can effect action,” Decker argued.

“The rot of the present administration runs deeper than one man. The sacrifice of a hero is insufficient to save our nation, and a gust of wind on a summer day would not have saved us. For let us make no mistake; the problem is not one man, but a whole class of people. If one head is cut off, another would take its place,” he continued.
“Violence only makes sense as part of coordinated strategy. This is why protests are important – not as a way of changing the present administration’s actions, but as a way to coordinate a group. There may come a time when we shall have no guarantee of freedom but the one which we make for ourselves. If it comes, I tell you that there is no greater honor than he who lays down his life for his friends,” he added. (ROOKE: China’s Using Unconventional Warfare To Fight Trump’s Tariffs)
The same people who claimed that Trump’s words equalled violence are now firebombing Tesla dealerships and writing essays calling for war. This isn’t activism to “save Democracy,” it’s psychopaths masquerading as altruists.
Americans may not like what the left is advocating for, but it’s time they realize where we are as a country and what they are willing to do to regain power.
When Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, I thought we had reached the height of political violence. There might have been a moment of brief pause from the left, but as soon as they realized he was going to live, they reverted to their calls for violence and claims that Trump was a threat.
Trump has survived at least two assassination attempts, lawfare seeking to put him in prison for the rest of his life, and attacks on his business and family. He’s not alone. The left has gone after grandmothers praying outside abortion clinics, parents protesting LGBTQ and racist ideologies in school curriculum, and men protecting fellow passengers from a violent criminal. The left was nowhere to be found when the innocent were being sought out by their own.
President Obama made a little-observed decision to change the linguistics of counterterrorism.
From “countering radical Islam,” to “countering violent extremism.”
Why?
Because he wanted to turn the intelligence community against the American people.

They care about saving the people whom they perceive to be “on their side,” the rest deserve to face a violent end.
“This evil will not pass without blood, sweat, toil, and tears. So harden your hearts, and be prepared to die,” Decker said.
Listen to the left when they talk. Their rhetoric is filled with hatred and violence. Reading Decker’s post makes me incredibly sad. Here is a 20-something man, studying for a doctorate, who has his whole life ahead of him, but his writing exposes the dark reality of the rotten culture within the left.
