Russel Brand Enters Not Guilty Plea In Rape Trial

Russell Brand pleaded not guilty to two new rape and sexual assault charges Feb. 24 in London, Britain.

The two new counts stem from alleged sexual assaults in 2009 and were announced in December 2025, according to TMZ. The famous comedian and actor entered not guilty pleas on five other charges of sexual assault in the UK in 2025. He appeared via video conference from his home in January and was granted bail on the new charges.

Officials charged the 50-year-old star in April with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault, according to The Associated Press. The alleged offences were connected to four women and happened from 1999 to 2005, prosecutors said.

Brand faced allegations of raping one in a hotel room back in 1999. Another alleged victim claimed he orally raped her inside a bathroom stall during a party. A third woman claimed Brand tried to force her inside a bathroom stall, and the fourth alleged victim accused Brand of kissing and groping her against her will.

Brand denied the allegations stacked against him, but admitted he acted like a “fool” while spiraling through drug and sex addiction in his earlier years, according to TMZ.

The famous actor established a reputation for his chaotic personality, and underwent a very public transformation from a life of drug and alcohol addiction to clean living. He was baptized in the River Thames in April 2024 and has since proclaimed his devotion to Christ. He was formerly married to Katy Perry.
