CNN’s Scott Jennings mocked Democrats in a fiery critique that included his take on who is “not the future” of the party.
The conservative political commentator suggested Democrats replace the “radicals” who are the “true leaders” of the party at the moment, referring to Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) during a panel discussion on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
Jennings held a mirror up for the party after Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) said Democrats need to “stop being against Donald Trump and start being for something.”
.@RepDebDingell says the Democrats need to stand for something — but they already do!
I’ll defend the Democrats. They have taken an unyielding stand for:

✅boys in girls sports

“I’ll defend the Democrats,” Jennings said.
“They are for things: illegal aliens, you’re for boys and girls’ sports. I mean, you are for things. And that’s why you have such struggles right now in your party,” he added. “Because you’re not for anything that’s on the right side of any of the 80/20 issues that are driving this cultural divide in America.”
He went on to drop some names as alternatives to the current far-left faces dominating the narrative for Democrats.
“I think Wes Moore is actually a pretty talented communicator,” Jennings suggested.
“The other person who spoke in South Carolina, Tim Walz, is a special mixture of extreme buffoonery and a mean spirit, which is a toxic brew. He is not the future of the Democratic Party,” he said of the Minnesota governor and 2024 vice presidential nominee.
“Moore is interesting. Moore is interesting, probably more interesting than some of the radicals you have out there – Crockett, AOC, I mean, these are the true leaders of your party right now, but it’d probably be better off replacing them,” Jennings continued.
A Co/efficient poll conducted last month showed that 26% of those surveyed saw Ocasio-Cortez as the face of the Democratic Party. But that number was in addition to the 26% who said the party currently had no leader, and another 22% chose “other.”
“Currently, there is no consensus on the face of the Democrat Party, as a majority of voters either give the title to AOC (26%) or simply say there is none (26%). Bernie Sanders falls in a distant second, followed by a handful of others who fail to reach double digits,” the poll reported.
Crockett came in with only 8% in the survey.
A new CNN survey conducted by SSRS noted the “relatively anemic support for Democrats among their own partisans.”
“Americans are far more likely to see Republicans than Democrats as the party with strong leaders: 40% say this descriptor applies more to the GOP, with just 16% saying it applies to the Democrats,” CNN noted. “They’re also more likely to call Republicans the party that can get things done by 36% to 19%, and the party of change, by 32% to 25%.”
