A family is suing Seattle Public Schools in Seattle, Washington, for alleged antisemitism against their daughter including verbal threats from classmates saying they wished Hitler had “finished the job.”
“M.K.L.,” a freshman at Nathan Hale High School freshman faced almost a school year’s worth of threats, slurs and vandalism amid her family’s calls for assistance, KIRO 7 reported, citing a federal lawsuit filed Nov. 2o in U.S. District Court. School leadership allegedly ignored or insufficiently handled the issues. Other students allegedly told her to kill herself and accused her of racism and hating Muslims, The Seattle Times reported, citing an earlier complaint filed in King County Superior Court in June.
The suit listed Seattle Public Schools, Nathan Hale High School and former principal Dr. William Jackson as defendants. The student’s family previously pushed for the filing in King County to be dismissed without prejudice, KIRO 7 reported.

M.K.L. has been open about being Jewish, including wearing a Star of David necklace and taking part in the Jewish Student Union, the lawsuit read. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas War on Oct. 7, 2023, classmates allegedly used antisemitic slurs against her and claimed they wished Hitler had “finished the job.” The student also alleged Swastikas showed up on desks, classrooms and the softball dugout while she was the sole Jewish member of the team.
Students allegedly threatened attacks against M.K.L. amid a planned “Free Palestine” walkout in November 2023 if she wore clothing tied to Judaism to school. The student’s parents kept her at the house the day of the walkout and her mother emailed Jackson stating fears her daughter would be harmed the day prior, according to the lawsuit.
The family eventually met with Jackson who allegedly said he was aware of the threats and urged the student to report any further incidents to him personally while claiming he would look at surveillance video. The lawsuit claimed no further moves were made to address the allegations. (RELATED: ‘Hate The Police’: Harvard College Dean Hopes Trump Dies, Says Cops Are ‘Racist And Evil’)
The family also claimed the school district acted quickly when a Muslim student reported an offensive joke back in September 2023. The Jewish student allegedly faced cyberbullying via Instagram and TikTok, according to The Seattle Times.
The Daily Caller contacted Seattle Public Schools, who did not immediately comment.
