Senate Sets Hearing to Uncover Who Ran White House While Biden Faded [WATCH]

Senate Republicans announced Thursday that they will hold the first full congressional hearing to investigate what they describe as a coordinated effort to conceal Joe Biden’s cognitive decline during his final years in office.

The hearing is scheduled for June 18 and will be convened by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The hearing will focus on whether top aides, family members, and media outlets deliberately obscured Biden’s condition and who was effectively making decisions during his presidency.

Senators Eric Schmitt (R-MO) and John Cornyn (R-TX) are leading the effort.

“For four years, when the American people saw Joe Biden, they saw someone who was clearly not capable of making major decisions for the nation,” Schmitt said in a statement.

“Yet those closest to the president and the mainstream media did everything they could to hide this truth.”

Schmitt added that a group of insiders effectively acted as the “de facto commander in chief” while the president was “sidelined.”

Cornyn supported that assessment, stating that the presidency requires someone “who has the mental capacity to do the job, and it’s clear that President Biden did not.”

Cornyn described the situation as a “conspiracy between the mainstream media, Joe Biden’s family, and his inner circle,” and said they “lied consistently to the American people about his capacity to make decisions, which are solely vested by the Constitution.”

The witness list for the June 18 hearing is still being finalized, but it will mark Congress’s first formal Senate investigation into the health and mental fitness of Biden during his presidency.

The Senate inquiry follows a growing House investigation led by Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA), who introduced legislation on Thursday to form a select committee focused on what he described as “the potential concealment of information from the American public” regarding Biden’s condition.

In parallel, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is seeking testimony from several former senior Biden-Harris administration officials.

Comer’s team has sent letters requesting interviews with former Domestic Policy Council Director Neera Tanden; Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini; Anthony Bernal, a longtime aide to Jill Biden; Ashley Williams, Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations; and Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor.

A source familiar with the committee’s work told the Washington Examiner that all five individuals have made initial contact through their attorneys.

“We expect all witnesses to fully comply with the Committee’s investigation. The Committee will issue subpoenas if necessary,” the source said.

The House probe also intersects with a separate investigation into the use of autopen technology by the Biden-Harris administration to sign official documents in the final weeks of his presidency.

The use of the device has raised additional concerns about Biden’s direct involvement in key executive decisions.

Interest in the matter has grown following the release of the book Original Sin by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson.

The book claims that senior White House aides, including Bernal, exercised significant influence and that efforts were made to control the narrative surrounding Biden’s health.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the issue directly, calling on Jill Biden to answer for her role.

“I think anybody looking at the videos and photo evidence of Joe Biden with your own eyes and a little bit of common sense can see this was a clear cover-up,” Leavitt said.

The Senate hearing will be closely watched as lawmakers seek to determine the extent to which the public was informed—or misled—about Biden’s capacity to lead during his final years in office.
