Shawn Ryan Alleges Trump Administration Officials ‘F*cking Lied’ About Being Against Foreign Wars

Podcaster Shawn Ryan accused President Donald Trump and members of his administration of lying about their opposition to foreign wars Thursday.

Trump announced Operation Epic Fury in a video posted on Truth Social on Feb. 28 after attempts to negotiate a cessation of Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons failed. Ryan read comments from Trump, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth criticizing the Biden administration’s foreign involvements during Thursday’s episode of “The Shawn Ryan Show.” (RELATED: ‘I Hope This Wakes People Up’: Shawn Ryan Defends Trump Official Who Quit Over Iran War)

“Here’s what they said on the campaign trail. Trump adviser Stephen Miller on X: ‘Liz Cheney is Kamala’s top advisor. Liz wants to invade the whole Middle East. Kamala equals World War 3. Trump equals peace;’ Tulsi Gabbard, October 28th, 2024: ‘A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney and a vote for war, war and more war. A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to end wars, not start them,” Ryan read. “Miller also wrote, ‘Kamala will send your sons to war.’ JD Vance, 2023 on The Wall Street Journal, ‘Trump’s best foreign policy, not starting any wars. He has my support because I know he won’t recklessly send Americans to fight wars overseas.’ The Republican National Committee promoted Trump-Vance as the pro-peace ticket.”

“Trump on October 30th. 2024, ‘They’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, in quote, oh gee, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.’ Pete Hegseth, December 2025 speech: ‘Our department will not be distracted by democracy building interventionism, undefined wars, and regime change,’” Ryan continued. “Every single one of these things is a complete fucking lie.”

In June 2025, shortly after the United States Air Force bombed multiple facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan related to Iran’s nuclear weapons program, the White House released a fact sheet noting numerous instances in which Trump made it clear Iran would not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, dating back to 2011 and which included remarks made on the campaign trail in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

“As the world knows, President Trump’s preference is always peace and diplomacy first – look no further than the eight global conflicts the President has ended for proof. President Trump’s representatives worked extensively, and in good faith, to make a deal that would ensure that Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities posed no threat to our homeland,” White House assistant press secretary Olivia Wales told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Unfortunately, the Iranian regime refused to engage realistically with the United States. As a result, President Trump is taking decisive action to eliminate major national security threats to the American people, which past Presidents have talked about for 47 years, but only this President had the courage to accomplish.”

“All I wanted is you can never have a nuclear weapon. I didn’t want much. I wanted Iran to be very successful. I just don’t want them to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump told podcaster Patrick Bet-David during an October 2024 interview.

A similar fact sheet including dozens of instances where Trump said Iran wouldn’t be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons was released March 2, two days after Operation Epic Fury began.

“I hope they’re not trying to build up again, because if they are, we’re going to have no choice but very quickly to eradicate that buildup,” Trump said during a December 2025 joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “After Midnight Hammer, they were warned to make no future attempts to rebuild their weapons program, and in particular nuclear weapons, yet they continue,” Trump said during his State of the Union address on Feb. 24. “They’re starting it all over… One thing is certain: I will never allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon.”

During a March 2 interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, stated that Iranian diplomats expressed their intention to keep enriching uranium and claimed they already possessed enough material to build 11 dirty bombs.
