Just because Disney lifted the suspension on Jimmy Kimmel’s show does not mean it will be airing anytime soon.
On Monday night, Sinclair Broadcast Group announced that it will be preempting the late-night comedy show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ across its affiliate stations as discussions with ABC continue.

This comes after news broke on Monday that Disney would be lifting the suspension against Kimmel, and his show would be returning to the air on Tuesday evening.
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday,” a spokesperson for the company told Fox News Digital.
Sinclair had previously set out a list of demands that Kimmel would have to accept before being allowed to return to the air.
“Sinclair also calls upon Mr. Kimmel to issue a direct apology to the Kirk family. Furthermore, we ask Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk family and Turning Point USA. Regardless of ABC’s plans for the future of the program, Sinclair intends not to return ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ to our air until we are confident that appropriate steps have been taken to uphold the standards expected of a national broadcast platform,” they stated.
X users had some ideas on how the company could fill the time slot:
You should replace it with episodes of ren and stimpy.

May I make a suggestion? Animaniacs. pic.twitter.com/TE0lPOt1XL

I’d be willing to bet replacing it with re-runs of Charlie Kirk debates would get an order of magnitude more viewers.

They should replace it with reruns of Captain Kangaroo.

Stick it to your normie viewers & run ivermectin ads or something. @ABCNetwork should choose another station in your markets as their affiliate.

Do what is marketable for your business.
Maybe play Little House on the Praire during that time slot.
That would be hilarious as it would most likely get higher viewership and more advertising revenue. pic.twitter.com/qRAUYiRzSy
