Sophie Cunningham, Podcast Co-Host West Wilson Rip Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas apparently does not stay in Vegas.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and her fellow podcast co-host West Wilson didn’t hold back about how they felt regarding Las Vegas amid a growing buzz that Sin City has lost a grip on its iconic ways.

The two got into the city after talking about center A’ja Wilson, who plays for the Las Vegas Aces. Cunningham questioned Wilson regarding whether or not he’s a Vegas fan, to which he responded that he was not and brought up how he used to live there while he worked for Bleacher Report.

“I don’t like Vegas,” said Cunningham during the latest edition of the “Show Me Something” podcast. “When people are like, ‘Oh, Vegas!’ I’m like, ah sh*t.” (RELATED: 12-Year-Old Girl Hit By Thrown Sex Toy At Wings-Liberty Game In New York, Officials Say)

This then led to Wilson getting deeper into Vegas, branding it as a “sad city.”

“I would leave work at like 10 p.m. (from Caesars Palace) and you know how you kind of just clock people when you’re leaving, and you’re by yourself and listening to music? I’d come back in the morning, like 9 a.m., same people, same chairs … It’s like a sad city,” said Wilson.

Cunningham has been to Sin City plenty of times, especially during her time with the Phoenix Mercury when they consistently squared off against the Aces.

“Every time that I’m there, there’s just that smell Vegas has, and I have to wash everything. It’s just like that smell,” said Cunningham. “Everyone that lives in Vegas, like off the strip and in the suburbs, everyone says it’s awesome. But I just never experienced that so I’m just like eh. But everyone loves it.”
