Charlie Kirk, a conservative icon who founded the youth activist organization Turning Point USA, died Wednesday after being shot at a speaking event that was taking place at Utah Valley University, according to President Donald Trump.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” said Trump on Truth Social. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Spencer Cox, the governor of Utah, labeled Kirk’s death as a “political assassination.” (RELATED: Charlie Kirk Dead At 31 Following University Shooting)
