Starmer Set to Visit Kenya
The Kenyan press is reporting this morning that Starmer is set to visit the country soon:
“United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to visit Kenya soon, following a major policy shift on immigration that has stirred anxiety among thousands of Kenyans hoping to work in the UK care sector.
Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Internal Security, Dr. Raymond Omollo, confirmed the visit on Monday, May 13, after meeting with UK High Commissioner Neil Wigan in Nairobi to discuss preparations.”
Most coverage including a tweet from Omollo has been deleted. Probably jumped the gun on that one…
The country is a partner with the UK on emerging technologies and gets FCDO funding on that front so the visit could be timed with an AI announcement from the PM. Downing Street says they will “set out the PM’s movements in the usual way.” Kenya safaris nice this time of year…
