Steelers’ Kenneth Gainwell Makes Such Insane Catch It’ll Have You Replaying It Over And Over Again In Disbelief

How on earth…?

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions were engaged in a fiercely contested fight Sunday as both teams strive to secure a playoff berth, ensuring that every player left everything on the field in an effort to extend their season.

While certain players might pour maximum effort into every aspect of the game, including situations away from the actual gridiron (we’re talking about you, DK Metcalf), running back Kenneth Gainwell demonstrated his commitment by delivering one of the most unbelievable receptions you’ll ever witness. Toward the end of the second quarter, with the Steelers trailing 10-3, their offense desperately needed a boost to ignite some momentum. And that’s when Gainwell did his thing.

Gainwell’s catch was so unlikely that hardly anyone believed it had actually been completed, even tricking the broadcasters of the game in Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. Though, Romo was able to call it before anybody else did.

WATCH:

I understand the Odell Beckham Jr. comparisons …

… and I also understand the Michael Wilson comparisons.

But I’m thinking Kenneth Gainwell deserves his own category, because catching it on the ground and then having the self-awareness to get up to run it in for a touchdown is absolutely crazy work, and in a good way obviously.

Seven, eight, nine years from now, and so on, you’ll still be seeing this catch. Watch.
