When it comes to money, it’s not even a thing to billionaire Elon Musk. The man can support who he wants in politics and will bring a lot of sway with it.

In the 2024 general election, he had his money and support behind President Donald Trump. Musk made appearances at Trump rallies, he showed support on social media, he handed out donation after donation, and did his thing to make sure swing states flipped over to Trump. Following Trump’s inauguration, the two then worked together on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with Musk tasked with trying to slash wasteful spending.

It seemed like the two were joined at the hip. They took trips on Air Force One with each other, attended UFC events, Musk even had his kids at the White House. Everything was perfect in terms of their relationship and partnership. And then, boom, Thursday happened.

For a good majority of the afternoon, Musk absolutely unleashed on Trump with tweet after tweet, with things stemming from Musk criticizing Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Musk claims it won’t do anything but make America worse off financially. Well, Stephen A. Smith is out here trying to take advantage of the situation. Clearly.

While Musk was ranting on social media, he put up a poll that asked Americans if it’s time for a new political party to get started “that actually represents the 80 percent in the middle.”
