The sole survivor of an Air India plane crash was seen in a shocking new video walking away from the fiery disaster.
Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is seen in the video footage moments after Flight AI171 crashed in Ahmedabad, Western India, last week. The British national was flying with his brother, seated next to him in the plane, who did not survive. In all, 270 people perished in the crash, with 241 aboard the Air India flight bound for Gatwick, Great Britain, and another 29 who were killed on the ground.
The video of Ramesh shows him as he “walked out with his phone in his hand,” plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky behind him.

“I don’t know how I managed to escape,” he told a reporter from the hospital where he was treated.
“For some time, I thought I was also going to die. But when I opened my eyes, I realised I was alive and I tried to unbuckle myself from the seat and escape from where I could,” he said. “I just walked out.”
“I still don’t know how I’m alive.”
