Surveillance footage obtained by investigators shows Minneapolis school shooter Robin Westman spending nearly 40 minutes inside a Minnesota gun store just four days before opening fire at Annunciation Catholic School, killing two children and injuring more than 20 others, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The video, recorded on August 23 at Frontiersman Sports in St. Louis Park, captured 23-year-old Westman handling multiple firearms. At one point, Westman pointed a revolver toward the floor while staring down the barrel.

On August 27, Westman carried out a mass shooting during a morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. Police said he fired through stained glass windows into the church as students and parishioners prayed.

Eight-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Myoski were killed in the attack. At least 21 others, including children and adults, were wounded.
Gun store owner Kory Krause said his staff alerted investigators after recognizing Westman in the surveillance video.
Krause, who was not present during the visit, described the shooter as appearing friendly. “Smiled, laughed, asked questions. He interacted with three of our staff in a friendly manner,” Krause told KSTP.

The store confirmed it did not sell Westman any of the firearms later used in the shooting. Authorities reported Westman was armed with a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol during the attack, all of which were purchased legally.
Krause explained that Westman presented as a man in person but identified as female on paperwork when purchasing a .38 special revolver with a valid permit and ID.
“What could I have done? What could I have caught? He had three layers of seasoned veteran employees that can sniff this stuff out from a mile away,” Krause said. “We want to know that we did everything right. We have a reputation for picking out people that are bad actors.”
Authorities found Westman dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had been dressed in black tactical clothing during the shooting.
Investigators later uncovered a video Westman had posted to YouTube before the attack, displaying firearms decorated with text referencing school shooters, criticizing President Donald Trump, and mocking Christianity.
Police also found a four-page suicide note addressed to family and friends.
“I have wanted this for so long. I am not well. I am not right. I am a sad person, haunted by these thoughts that do not go away,” Westman wrote.
“I know this is wrong, but I can’t seem to stop myself. I am severely depressed and have been suicidal for years. Only recently have I lost all hope and decided to perform my final action against this world.”
The note ended with Westman asking for “prayers” for the victims and their families.
Survivors of the attack include Vivi St. Clair, 9, Endre Gunter, 13, Sophia Forchas, 12, and Lydia Kaiser. All sustained serious injuries and face long recoveries.
