Suspects in Shooting of Baby Girl Flee on Moped, Get Creamed by Another Car in Brooklyn [WATCH]

The video shows the two suspects traveling the wrong way down a one-way street before colliding with a black sedan heading toward them.

The impact of the crash sent both men forward off the motorbike, where they landed on the pavement.

Footage shows the suspects attempting to regain their footing, with one appearing to hop on his right foot, while both gather items scattered during the crash before moving back toward the moped.

The victim, identified as Kaori Patterson-Moore of Brooklyn, was with her family at the time of the shooting.

Authorities said her mother was pushing her in a stroller early Wednesday afternoon when shots were fired in their direction. Kaori’s father and 2-year-old brother were also present.

The family attempted to escape the gunfire by taking cover inside a nearby bodega.

Despite their efforts, Kaori was struck during the incident. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The New York Police Department announced Thursday that 21-year-old Amuri Greene has been identified as the suspected gunman.

Police said Greene is a known affiliate of a gang operating out of a housing project in Brooklyn. Investigators are examining whether the intended target of the shooting may have been Kaori’s father.

According to police, Greene was riding as the rear passenger on the moped at the time of the shooting.

After the crash captured on surveillance video, he sustained a broken leg and was taken to a hospital.

While receiving treatment, Greene was arrested on unrelated domestic violence charges.

Authorities said Greene has since been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting.

Police stated he will be taken into custody and formally arraigned following his release from the hospital.

The second suspect, identified as 18-year-old Matthew Rodriguez, was arrested Friday in Pennsylvania.

Police said Rodriguez was driving the moped during the incident and was taken into custody by NYPD detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Charges against Rodriguez are pending.

Investigators have not yet recovered the firearm used in the shooting.

However, police reported that two shell casings believed to be connected to the incident were located at the scene.

At a news conference addressing the case, NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch spoke about the impact of the crime.

“This is a terrible day in our city, a tragedy that truly shocks the conscious,” Tisch said.

“As a mother, I cannot imagine the pain that this family is feeling or the grief that they now carry with them. It is unspeakable.”

Authorities continue to ask for assistance from the public as the investigation remains ongoing.

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish speakers, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted online or through X @NYPDTips.
