They were joined by cast members Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone, along with director Paul Feig. The film centers on Sweeney’s character, Millie, who uncovers disturbing secrets after being hired as a housemaid for an affluent household.
The project marks Sweeney’s latest leading role following the release of “Christy,” a biographical drama that opened to widespread criticism and underperformed at the box office. Sweeney previously shrugged off the reaction to that film.
“The Housemaid” adds to both actresses’ recent work in psychological thrillers and drama-focused roles, and the cast has made several promotional appearances ahead of the movie’s rollout.

The Housemaid is WILD. The first half leans into camp in the best possible way. It is playful, stylish, and an absolute blast before the film takes a sharp, gripping turn that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
