Syracuse’s Fran Brown Gives Players Hollywoodesque Punishment Despite Win Against UConn

A win is a win, but not to Fran Brown.

It was an intense Saturday for the Syracuse Orange, but they managed to escape with a 27-20 overtime victory against the UConn Huskies. Now me, I have the understanding that it’s incredibly tough to win a college football game, but ‘Cuse head coach Fran Brown expected pure domination — clearly.

At the midway point of the fourth quarter, UConn had a 17-6 advantage and it appeared that they were well on their way to the win. However, the Orange cranked things up after not getting a touchdown throughout the entire contest, punching in two scores in their last two drives of regulation to put them on top, 20-17. The Huskies went on to put the game into overtime with a field goal near the end of the game, but it would be Syracuse that would prevail in the “free football” for fans.

The Orange did what they had to do to get the most important thing: the win. However, the way that it came in didn’t make Brown happy whatsoever, and his players paid the price.

Following the contest, ‘Cuse players weren’t allowed to go to the locker room. Instead, Brown made them go to the goal line where they would have to do wind sprints for punishment. And boy oh boy, it’s a scene straight out of the movie “Miracle.”
