‘Tell Democrats to go to HELL’

The president didn’t mince words when he suggested a three-word phrase for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to tell Democrats regarding blocked judicial nominees.

Despite the widely perceived mandate handed to President Donald Trump with a seven swing state sweep, ushering him back to the White House with control of the House and Senate, establishment games have allowed for constant roadblocks toward advancing his America First agenda.

Now, having had judicial nominees stymied at length, the chief executive advised the nearly 92-year-old senator to tell his Democratic colleagues to take their “old and outdated” blue slips, and “go to HELL!”

Following another round of nominations for district court positions Friday, the president set his expectations going into the new week with a Truth Social message late Sunday evening calling on action from Grassley, who is the current chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as he wrote, “I have a Constitutional Right to appoint Judges and U.S. Attorneys, but that RIGHT has been completely taken away from me in States that have just one Democrat United States Senator. This is because of an old and outdated ‘custom’ known as a BLUE SLIP, that Senator Chuck Grassley, of the Great State of Iowa, refuses to overturn, even though the Democrats, including Crooked Joe Biden (TWICE!), have done so on numerous occasions.”

“Therefore, the only candidates that I can get confirmed for these most important positions are, believe it or not, Democrats!” continued Trump. “Chuck Grassley should allow strong Republican candidates to ascend to these very vital and powerful roles, and tell the Democrats, as they often tell us, to go to HELL!”

The blue slip policy allows senators from the home state of a federal judicial nominee to opine to the Senate Judiciary Committee before a decision is made on whether or not to recommend confirmation of a nominee

When the president had previously sounded off and called for Grassley to “step up, like Crooked Joe Biden did, when he openly broke, at least two times, the ‘Blue Slip’ SCAM … and not let the Democrats laugh at him and the Republican Party for being weak and ineffective,” the senator reacted, “I’ve already spoken about the blue slip problem, and I’ve got no more to say than what I’ve been saying for 50 years.”

Grassley went on to state, “… I was surprised to see President Trump on Truth Social go after me and Senate Republicans over what we call the ‘blue slip.’ I was offended by what the President said, and I’m disappointed that it would result in personal insult.”

The senator further added that “the people in Real America don’t care about what the ‘blue slip’ is, but, in fact, it impacts the district judges who serve their communities and the U.S. Attorneys who ensure law and order is enforced.”

This latest Senate-aimed salvo came as acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba took to Fox News to call out the blue slip tradition in the wake of a federal judge contending Thursday that she had been “unlawfully” appointed to her position.

“By holding up a traditional blue slip, not a law, and not allowing a lot of the president’s picks to go through and be voted on by the Senate,” Habba told host Sean Hannity, “I didn’t even get to that point.”

To the long-serving lawmaker’s point about his record on “the blue slip problem,” as social media reacted, the president once again shared a 2017 quote from Grassley that read, “We should not allow home-state senators to abuse this courtesy by attempting to block committee proceedings for political or ideological reasons.”

This traditional custom has no place at this time in American history. The Country has been under attack from within and desperately needs a course correction that these appointments will help provide. Do what is best for the Country Senator Grassley

Grassley needs to let Trump appoint who he wants. This is the problem with the GOP. Term limits are need because these Senators think they rule, and think their deals across the aisle are more important than the will of the people.
