Conservative pundit Steven Crowder gave an emotional interview with Piers Morgan where he said he “feels partially responsible” for the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Why does he feel that way?
Crowder says he knew the risks and the threats and didn’t do enough to warn Kirk and others of what they were facing.
“I failed people. I had to do a lot of soul searching,” Crowder said.
In a similar fashion to what would become Charlie Kirk’s format, Crowder began debating young leftists on campuses in 2016, presenting the challenge, “change my mind.”
Crowder said he encouraged others to do the same and gave Kirk credit for “taking it to another level.”
“What I didn’t do,” Crowder continued. “I didn’t tell people about the threats…”
“Maybe if I would’ve picked up the phone… to tell people it’s real life out there. And the left wants you dead.”

Steven Crowder: “I believe that I’m partially responsible for [what happened to Charlie]. I failed people…When I did Change My Mind, it got increasingly violent. And I didn’t tell people about the threats, about concrete milkshakes, about people trying to firebomb my car. Maybe… pic.twitter.com/sJg6tD5ZhW

X users weighed in on what Crowder had to say, including Natalie Jean Beisner, who posted the clip. Beisner says she’s an ex-Democrat who has been part of a “change my mind” event and has felt very unsafe.
This is real. The last time I was doing a “change my mind” event on a college campus, I felt very unsafe. And that’s not typical for me.

I place the blame squarely on the media and the education system. They have indoctrinated and brainwashed young people anyone with an opposing view is a threat. For some, that means those threats must be eliminated and removed from society.

Many thought that conservatives need to be more vocal, especially when it comes to threats.
@scrowder makes an excellent point about people on our side that are experiencing political violence from the left need to speak up and speak out.
The more they silence us— the more radical they get.
Staying quiet is not going to save you or others. Bringing more light to the…

I think Conservatives need to start speaking up loudly whenever they are threatened. It’s time for all to publicly know how often they are threatened. And, i’d hope they are all being investigated by authorities.

Some accused Crowder of trying to make the story about himself.
Steven Crowder has a terminal case of main character syndrome.

But not everyone agreed.
Doesn’t look like he was making it about himself. He was early doing this work and now after this tragedy, has feelings he’s processing. Seems too hard on himself. Charlie surely knew the risks, faced threats, & still pushed forward because he believed the work mattered.

Everyone did agree, however, that Charlie Kirk was a hero.
Unfortunately, Charlie already knew that well before they killed him. He knew there were rabid bloodthirsty leftist murderers about and they threatened him amply, but he wouldn’t be silenced by these threats while the devil continued to whisper in kids’ ears, God bless Charlie!!!

Charlie knew he was in danger. He did it anyways. He’s a hero
