‘They’re Screwing Hardworking Americans’ [WATCH]

Musician Kid Rock criticized the live entertainment industry and ticketing practices in a recent statement, accusing industry figures of exploiting fans through high ticket prices and costly add-ons such as parking fees.

Rock said the issue reflects broader problems within the business structure of concerts and venues, particularly regarding how ticket inventory and pricing are handled.

“Name me one other business that doesn’t control their inventory,” Rock said.

Rock argued that recent developments have exposed practices he believes have been occurring for years within the industry.

“Let’s start there, and then come to find out, the other day, these people were exposed, not only exposed for what they’ve been doing for years, which I said, there’s a lot of corruption and fraud going on,” Rock said.

He said he previously called for congressional oversight into the industry and urged lawmakers to examine contracts between venues, artists, and management companies.

“I employed Congress to go subpoena contracts between buildings, artists, managers, everybody,” Rock said.

Rock referenced the release of information by federal authorities, which he said confirmed concerns about how fans are being treated by the ticketing system.

“Now it comes out verbatim that the DOJ released, they’re screwing my fans,” Rock said.

The musician said criticism directed at him personally does not concern him, but he objects strongly to what he believes are practices that harm fans who attend concerts.

“Let me just preface this by saying, like the trolls and media and everybody, they can come after me all they want,” Rock said.

“I could care less. Sticks and stones,” he added.

Rock emphasized that his concern centers on the people who attend his shows and support the live music industry.

“You come after my fans who are arguably outside of our military, the best this country has to offer, hard working people who just want to have fun,” Rock said.

According to Rock, certain ticketing and venue practices have resulted in significantly higher costs for concertgoers.
