‘This Is Ridiculous’: Cornel West Storms Off ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ Panel During Heated Charlie Kirk Discussion

Former independent presidential candidate Cornel West walked off “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Monday during a testy clash over assassinated Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday while speaking to a large audience at Utah Valley University (UVU), during which he participated in civil debate with students. West walked off the show while sparring with “The Crucible” host Andrew Wilson, who called him a “lunatic” and noted he called President Donald Trump’s administration “neofascist.” (RELATED: ‘I Did See Him Fall’: Jason Chaffetz Provides Eyewitness Account Of Charlie Kirk Shooting)

“You very, very different than brother Charlie, man,” West said to Wilson. “You’re very different than Charlie, though, man.”

“It’s rhetoric from people like you that got that man killed, sir,” Wilson appeared to say, though it was difficult to discern the exact wording due to West talking over him.

West denied that his rhetoric played a role in Kirk’s assassination, but Wilson doubled down. West appealed to host Piers Morgan to stop Wilson from interrupting.

“Piers, why you have a brother on who’s not going to allow nobody to speak, man? We just wasting time. If all you’re interested in is making your money and you bring this brother on and nobody can say a word and we can’t even mourn brother Charlie passing,” West said. “I had dialogues with brother Charlie … Charlie was made in the image of a loving and mighty God … I say my prayers for sister Erica [Kirk] and the kids because this brother wants to trash my Christian sensibility. And look at him laughing now. It’s a joke, man. Piers, it’s not worth it.”

West stood up out of his seat, but continued talking.

“Is Charlie Kirk part of the neofascist movement?” Wilson asked him.

West did not directly answer, but criticized Kirk’s racial views.

“When Charlie himself says that he is against civil rights act, does that make him a proponent of Jim Crow?” West asked.

The former presidential candidate accused Wilson of being “arrogant” and “part of the problem.” Morgan urged him to sit and continue debating, but he refused.

“This is ridiculous. He’s smoking his cigarettes with his arrogant self,” West said. “Come on, man. We don’t have enough dialogue at all.”

“Surely you’re not going to walk out in a debate about dialogue,” Morgan said as West walked off.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on Friday, accusing him of murdering Kirk. Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said at a Friday press conference that authorities found anti-fascist messages on the ammunition from the rifle they recovered near the assassination, such as “Hey fascist! Catch!”

Former Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine on Monday’s “The Morning Meeting” called on his party to admit it made an error by labeling Trump a “fascist” following the assassination.

“[T]he party should not call Trump Hitler, should not say he’s a fascist. One, it’s bad politics. Two, it’s just not true. Right? It is simply not the case,” Turrentine said. “And I think that whenever a bad thing happens, parties need to call out in real time, ‘This is not acceptable.’”
