One man found out the hard way that his actions have consequences when he allegedly tried to paint over a Charlie Kirk memorial.
It all started when the man approached the Kirk memorial on Graffiti Bridge in Pensacola, Florida, with a can of spray paint. A gathered crowd expressed their outrage, but two men decided to take a more active approach to deterring the behavior.

A news report from the incident adds additional details, including news that Troy Donovan Grow and Larry Hopkins have been arrested in connection with the attack.
While the decision to paint over the memorial could be said to be in bad taste, authorities maintain that the man with spray paint wasn’t breaking the law with his behavior.
“For somebody who is opposing to go up and deface the mural during a vigil was probably not the smartest thing to do and it upset people and it caused a disturbance,” Officer Mike Wood said, clarifying that it is “not illegal.”
He also noted that officers on scene are not there to take politics into account when it comes to the art or demonstrations, but are there to provide safety for all participants regardless of orientation.
“We’re going to make sure everyone’s voice is heard, but you have to be peaceful,” he explained. “Once you begin throwing things or putting hands on people, then we have to step in. Officers were there both in uniform and in plain clothes monitoring the situation, and when people start putting their hands on each other, that’s when we have to step in and do our jobs.”
“No matter what you’re here protesting for, whether you’re a Republican or Democrat or whatever the issue may be, help us help you have this be conducted peacefully,” said Mayor D.C. Reeves earlier in the week, making it clear that Graffiti Bridge will remain an area for freedom of expression.

He did this DURING the memorial for Charlie thinking he was big and bad. Unfortunately, he was also legally allowed to do that and the guys who sprayed him are facing charges. That is local to me is why I know.

Yes it was deserved! Let’s say it was a white guy vandalizing a George Floyd memorial. What do you think the response would be then?

He did it while the mural was being painted. In front of a group trying to pay their respects. He wanted attention. He got it.
