Richard Tice has confirmed that Reform will be instructing its councils to follow suit after Epping was granted an injunction yesterday afternoon to close the Bell Hotel to asylum seekers. He was asked on Times Radio this morning if Reform-led councils would pursue the same action:

Yes, absolutely. Our council leaders will be instructing legal departments to pursue all legal avenues after this ruling, which is very significant because it’s a temporary junction based on the fact that there has been a material change in use of the building from a hotel. And that’s the temporary injunction. So all the Reform councils will be pursuing this.

Tice also said HMO use – the likeliest alternative to hotels – would be targeted where they are “wrongly, incorrectly used under planning laws” and that the “Home Office needs to process all of these asylum seekers rapidly, promptly.” Tory-led Broxbourne Council has already announced its intention to do an Epping.
