Tim Allen revealed Erika Kirk’s words of faith moved him to confront decades of pain and ultimately forgive the man who killed his father.
The actor and comedian shared a powerful message Thursday on X, explaining that he was profoundly inspired by Kirk’s powerful message at the memorial service for the right-wing activist at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Erika delivered a strong message saying said she chose to forgive Tyler Robinson, the suspect charged in the fatal shooting. She said finding a way to forgive is what her husband would have done.
“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.” That moment deeply affected me, Allen wrote.

Allen continued, “I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad.”
Allen went on to share a deeply personal moment with his followers.
“I will say those words now as I type: “ I forgive the man who killed my father.” Peace be with you all,” Allen wrote.
The “Home Improvement” star lost his father, Gerald M. Dick, in November 1964, when he was killed in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. Dick was driving his wife and a car full of children home from a football game in Colorado when a driver swerved into a median on the I-70 and collided with his vehicle. Allen was only 11 years old at the time.
“(He) broke his neck and died in my mom’s lap right there,” Allen said in a 2006 episode of the “Inside the Actors Studio” that can be seen here.
Allen’s social media post quickly amassed 7.6 million views – with just 1.1 million followers, suggesting that his message was also resonating with people across the globe. (RELATED: Brittany, Jason Aldean Honor Charlie Kirk With Heartfelt Duet)
