Time Magazine released its list of the “100 Best Podcasts of All Time” this week, drawing scrutiny for leaving out several of the most downloaded, discussed, and influential programs in the podcasting landscape—including many with large conservative or independent followings.
Among the most notable omissions is The Joe Rogan Experience, widely regarded as the most successful podcast in the world.

Joe Rogan’s show has consistently topped Spotify’s global charts and remains one of the most listened-to programs across platforms.

In his profile for the magazine, television host Mike Rowe wrote, “Joe Rogan has changed broadcasting. His conversations have moved markets, influenced elections, and introduced millions to subjects they didn’t know they were interested in. He’s changing the way we listen.”
Despite that acknowledgment, Rogan’s podcast did not appear on the publication’s podcast rankings.
🚨 TUCKER: “Rogan created the genre of podcasting. Rogan used to be a sitcom actor, a standup comedian, and an MMA fighter. Then he creates this thing called a podcast where he talks for 3 hours? I thought it was dumb. Who is going to listen to an MMA fighter talk for 3 hours? He… pic.twitter.com/Hq9YdUgbIF

Time also excluded Morning Wire, the news podcast produced by The Daily Wire, which remains a staple in Apple Podcasts’ top rankings for daily news content.
Timcast IRL, hosted by journalist and commentator Tim Pool, was similarly left off the list despite a large and active viewer base and consistent rankings across platforms.

The Charlie Kirk Show, Human Events Daily, The Megyn Kelly Show, and The Tucker Carlson Podcast were also excluded from the final list.
Each of these programs routinely draws millions of listeners per month and has shaped public discourse on current events, elections, and media accountability.
Tucker Carlson’s podcast, launched after his departure from Fox News, quickly became a leading platform for long-form interviews and original reporting.
His recent episodes have featured heads of state, high-level whistleblowers, and international newsmakers.
Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, regularly ranks among the top conservative voices on podcast platforms.

Human Events Daily, hosted by Jack Posobiec, has gained a growing audience through its focus on populist issues and daily political coverage.
Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News and NBC anchor, launched her podcast following her departure from network television.
Her show is regularly listed among the top programs in the news and commentary category, with high-profile interviews and a steady listener base.

None of these programs received a mention on Time’s curated list of “all-time greats,” despite their impact on political coverage, cultural dialogue, and media innovation in the digital space.
As of Friday, Time Magazine has not released a detailed explanation of its selection criteria or why these highly visible shows were left off the list.
Public reaction to the omissions continues to grow on social media platforms.
