Tom Homan Annihilates DeMS-13 Senator Prioritizing Terrorists Over Americans [WATCH]

During an appearance on ABC’s This Week, border czar Tom Homan strongly criticized Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for prioritizing a meeting with a deported alleged MS-13 gang member over addressing the ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border.

Homan’s remarks were in response to Van Hollen’s recent taxpayer-funded trip to El Salvador, where the senator met with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national deported by the Trump administration.

Garcia, who had been living in Maryland, was removed from the U.S. after being identified by federal officials as a public safety threat.

He is alleged to have ties to the violent MS-13 gang and has been accused of domestic violence and human trafficking.

His deportation led Van Hollen to travel to El Salvador to advocate on his behalf, drawing scrutiny from immigration officials and critics.

“What bothers me more than that is a U.S. senator traveled to El Salvador on taxpayer dime to meet with a MS-13 gang member, public safety threat, terrorist,” Homan said during the broadcast.

“And in the meantime, the day before he traveled, an illegal alien was arrested for murder, released to the streets rather than honoring an ICE detainer in his very own state.”

Homan, who led Immigration and Customs Enforcement during President Donald Trump’s first term, pointed to the broader record of inaction by Van Hollen during the previous administration’s efforts to manage the border crisis.

“What concerns me is Van Hollen never went to the border the last four years under Joe Biden,” Homan said.

“When you had a 600% increase in sex trafficking in women and children. You have a record number of known suspected terrorists crossing that border. You had a quarter million Americans die from fentanyl overdoses because of the open border.”

Homan continued, citing the dangers to migrants themselves and the breakdown of border enforcement during the Biden years.

“You got over 4,000 illegal aliens [who] died making that journey, which is an historic record. What shocks me is he’s remained silent on the travesty that happened on our southern border.”

He also called out the senator’s apparent lack of engagement with American families affected by illegal immigration.

“I’ve met with hundreds of angel moms and dads who buried their children that were murdered by an illegal alien,” Homan said.

“How many angel moms and dads has he met in the state of Maryland? That’s what concerns me.”

According to Homan, Van Hollen’s visit to El Salvador is just one example of misplaced priorities.

“He’s more concerned about getting a photo op with a gang member,” Homan said, “than he is about the thousands of Americans who have been killed, raped, or trafficked because the border was left wide open for four years.”

Homan ended his remarks by drawing a stark contrast between Van Hollen’s recent actions and the silence he maintained during the peak of the border crisis.

“He didn’t care when border patrol agents were being overrun, when families were being destroyed, when fentanyl was pouring into this country,” Homan said.

“But now he wants to talk about due process for someone with MS-13 ties?”

Van Hollen has not publicly responded to Homan’s comments. His trip to El Salvador, which he has defended as a matter of due process and human rights, has drawn criticism from multiple Republican lawmakers who argue that the senator has ignored public safety concerns in his home state.
