Tom Homan Cooks the Dems Going to El Salvador with Eight Simple Questions [WATCH]

Former acting ICE Director and current border czar Tom Homan sharply criticized Democrat lawmakers on Fox News’ “Hannity” Wednesday night, calling out their recent trip to El Salvador to visit deported illegal migrant Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia while ignoring the broader U.S. border crisis over the past four years.

Homan issued a pointed series of questions to the group of Democrats, including Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), who have rallied behind Abrego Garcia since his deportation to El Salvador’s mega-prison in March.

Van Hollen led a delegation that traveled to Central America to meet with Abrego Garcia, who was removed from the United States under the Trump administration. During the segment, host Sean Hannity asked Homan for his response to the taxpayer-funded visit.

“Where were you when thousands of American parents buried their children?” Homan asked.

“They got separated from children forever because they were killed by illegal aliens that entered this country illegally. That’s preventable crimes.”

Homan cited a 600% increase in sex trafficking during the Biden-Harris administration, questioning the lawmakers’ silence on that issue.

“Where were you when 10.5 million people came to our borders illegally?” he continued. “Where were you when millions were released in the United States in defiance of federal law?”

According to Homan, federal law requires detention—not release—for those who cross the border without proper documentation.

He also raised concerns about individuals on the terrorist watch list being released without proper vetting.

“Where were you when a record number of people on terrorist watch lists crossed this border and were released into the United States with no vetting?”

Under the Biden-Harris administration, more than eight million migrants have been encountered at the southern border over the last four fiscal years.

High-profile cases involving illegal migrants accused of violent crimes have fueled public frustration.

Homan referenced the deaths of Jocelyn Nungaray, 12; Rachel Morin, 37; and Laken Riley, 22—all of whom were allegedly murdered by illegal aliens.

Homan also pointed to the ongoing fentanyl crisis, which he said has claimed the lives of roughly a quarter million Americans due to trafficking across the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Where were you when a quarter million Americans died from fentanyl coming across the border?” he asked.

“You were silent, which means you’re complicit.”

He accused the lawmakers of failing to fulfill their responsibility to protect American citizens, adding, “It’s pathetic and disgusting. They are elected by the people to represent the taxpayers of this country. When you don’t care about your constituency, when you don’t care about public safety and national security, you’re an embarrassment to the position you hold.”

In an earlier interview with Fox News on Sunday, Sen. Van Hollen confirmed that his April 16 trip to El Salvador was funded by U.S. taxpayers.

He defended his effort to secure the release of Abrego Garcia. The Department of Justice, however, has released records showing that law enforcement documented Abrego Garcia’s suspected affiliation with MS-13 dating back to 2019.

Despite the DOJ’s findings, four more Democrat lawmakers have since traveled to El Salvador to meet with Van Hollen and advocate for Abrego Garcia.

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling on April 10 instructing the Trump administration to “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s “release from custody in El Salvador” and to handle the case as it would have been before his deportation.

As political tensions rise over immigration enforcement, Homan’s remarks underscore ongoing concerns among Republican officials over border security, national safety, and how elected leaders prioritize foreign nationals over American citizens.
