Tom Homan Issues NYC’s Democratic Socialist Mayor Candidate a Direct Warning [WATCH]

Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s designated border czar, issued a direct warning to New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani after the Democratic socialist declared victory in the city’s Democratic mayoral primary and renewed his pledge to “kick the fascist ICE out of New York City.”

Homan, speaking Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s Kudlow, addressed Mamdani’s campaign platform, which promises to block U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from operating in New York City and aims to “Trump-proof” the five boroughs.

Mamdani, 33, represents the Astoria section of Queens and defeated former Governor Andrew Cuomo in Tuesday’s primary.

“Good luck with that,” Homan told host Larry Kudlow when asked about Mamdani’s pledge.

“Federal law trumps him every day, every hour of every minute.”

Homan, who previously served as acting director of ICE, said the administration is prepared to escalate enforcement in New York due to its sanctuary policies.

“We’re going to be in New York City,” Homan said.

“Matter of fact, because it’s a sanctuary city — and President Trump made it clear a week and a half ago — we’re going to double down and triple down on sanctuary cities.”

According to Homan, the decision to prioritize operations in sanctuary jurisdictions is based on public safety concerns.

“We’re going to concentrate in sanctuary cities because we know they’re releasing public safety threats and national security threats back to the street,” he said. “So we know we’ve got a problem there.”

Homan added that ICE would be increasing its presence in New York not only in communities but also at workplaces.

“Not only are we going to send more agents to the neighborhood, we are going to increase worksite enforcement tenfold,” he said.

“We don’t have that problem in Florida, where the sheriffs work with us, so we’re going to double up and triple up on New York.”

Homan also addressed current New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who is running for reelection as an independent.

Homan credited Adams with trying to work with ICE and federal agencies despite limitations imposed by local and state policies.

“He wants to do the right thing, he wants to be a law-and-order mayor,” Homan said.

“He’s in the right mindset, it’s just that his hands are tied in many ways.”

Homan said Adams has supported coordination with federal agencies to address major public safety threats and to locate some of the estimated 300,000 missing children trafficked in the United States.

The renewed conflict between Homan and Mamdani comes months after a tense public encounter in March, when Mamdani confronted Homan at the New York State Capitol in Albany.

Khalil had been detained by ICE agents for allegedly falsifying information on his visa application. Mamdani was escorted out of the building by state troopers following the March 12 incident but was not charged.

Mamdani, who immigrated from Uganda, has made his opposition to ICE and federal immigration enforcement central to his campaign.

According to his campaign website, Mamdani seeks to sever all cooperation between city agencies and ICE, ban the agency from all city facilities, and increase legal support for undocumented immigrants.

The campaign also states that Mamdani “will fight Trump’s attempts to gouge the working class, and deliver a city where everyone can afford a dignified life,” while ensuring that immigrant New Yorkers are “protected by strengthening our sanctuary city apparatus.”

Homan’s remarks signal that immigration enforcement in sanctuary cities like New York will remain a central focus under the Trump administration.

The administration has emphasized enforcement in jurisdictions that restrict local cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
