Trump Attends FIFA Club World Cup Award Ceremony, Celebrates With Players At Metlife Stadium

President Donald Trump spent his Sunday crashing the FIFA World Cup trophy ceremony that featured Chelsea taking home the gold.

Trump spent the match watching from New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium alongside Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) president Gianni Infantino, the Independent reported. After the match, the two made their way down to the filed to present Chelsea’s captain Reece James with the wining trophy after their win over PSG. (RELATED: FIFA Office Opens Doors In Trump Tower)

After presenting the captain and his team with the trophy, Trump stayed where he was and celebrated the win with the team, as can be seen in a post to X on Sunday.

Cheers mixed with boos can be heard in the video from the crowd — both presumably directed at Trump.

“It’s a big thing, Gianni’s a friend of mine. But it’s great to watch,” Trump told DAZN — a global sports streaming service — according to the outlet.

“This is a little bit of an upset we’re watching today. [Fifa has done] fantastically well, it’s a growing sport, it’s a great sport,” he continued to say.

Trump also handed out the “2025 FIFA World Cup Best Player” award to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

This event also marked the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
