Trump claps back in response rant, calls Karl Rove a ‘total loser’ for his harsh 100-day assessment

President Donald Trump fired a shot at Republican strategist Karl Rove after he said the president “sounds like Mr. Scrooge” in an assessment of his second term in office.

“I don’t need to have Karl Rove of Fox News to tell me what to do,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The guy’s a total Loser who’s been wrong about almost everything!”

Rove delivered his unsolicited advice to Trump during an appearance on “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy” on Fox News.

Rove praised Trump over his border polices, saying his “great success has been border security” before adding, “What gets me is, the president has yet to visit the border.”

“If I were him, I’d be down here drawing attention to it because it’s one of the big reasons why the American people elected him,” he said.

He also spoke of tariffs and the president’s previous comments about his trade policies.

“It sounds like Mr. Scrooge,” Rove said. “The ordinary American is like, ‘Wait a minute, I thought you were on my side, I did not think you’re on the side of I need to do with less.’”

“We elected him for a variety of reasons that were important: inflation, the border, DEI, the military, respect for America,” Rove said. “[But] things like tweeting out a picture of you as the pope is deeply offensive to a great many people.”

Trump’s anger was not just unleashed on Rove, as he earlier had called out Fox News host Howard Kurtz and suggested he retire.

The “MediaBuzz” host offered praise of the president but also spoke about the departure of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz from the administration.

He also played clips from MSNBC contributor Charlie Sykes and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and Abby Phillip.

“It is time for Howie Kurtz to retire!” Trump wrote.

“Every Woke Anchor in the Business, people that no one watched from CNN, MSDNC, and others, are plastered all over his show, with all really negative and fake statements, and then I am weakly ‘defended’ by Howie and his group (although Ben Domenech has been strong!). The case Howie makes for me is so pathetic that it would be a lot better if he didn’t say anything. Anyway, that’s the way it is!” Trump added.
