Trump Jokes About Deporting Rosie O’Donnell (Again)

President Donald Trump suggested Saturday in a Truth Social Post that he is considering revoking comedian Rosie O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship, continuing their years-long public feud.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

O’Donnell and Trump have traded public barbs since the mid-2000s. Their dispute became a national flashpoint during the first 2015 Republican primary debate, when Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly asked Trump about derogatory comments he had made about women. She cited examples where he had used terms like “fat pigs,” “dogs,” and “slobs.”

Trump cut her off mid-question: “Only Rosie O’Donnell,” drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

O’Donnell has publicly criticized Trump for years and previously said she would leave the United States if he won the 2016 election. She later said she was considering moving to Canada but ultimately stayed.

In March 2025, O’Donnell reportedly relocated to Ireland. The Truth Social post appeared to reference that move directly, suggesting she “remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland.” (RELATED: Irish Resident Rosie O’Donnell Chimes In From Across The Pond To Blame Trump For Texas Flooding)

As of Saturday evening, O’Donnell had not responded to the post. The White House has not commented.
