President Donald Trump delivered remarks on Wednesday at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) fundraising dinner, where he criticized Democrats for their conduct during his recent State of the Union address, pointing to their reactions to individuals he recognized during the speech, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
During the event, Trump departed from his prepared remarks and addressed House Republicans directly, taking aim at Democratic lawmakers for remaining seated during key moments of the address.
“You don’t mind if I go off this crazy teleprompter? You know, it’s boring when you do the teleprompter thing, very boring,” Trump said.

He referenced several individuals honored during the State of the Union, including victims and military personnel, and described the reaction from Democrats as subdued.
“I announced all these heroes, and I announce women that have gone through tragedy, like the incredible woman who’s lost her daughter to a maniac when he slashed her from behind, right? And I say, please, please say hello. And she stands up, devastated, and the Democrats are sitting like dead people, like dead— no movement, no heart, no anything,” Trump said.
Trump also pointed to the recognition of military service members, including Medal of Honor recipients, during the speech.
He described one recipient as a helicopter pilot who was injured during a mission but successfully completed a critical landing under fire.

“And we gave him the Congressional Medal of Honor, and the Democrats sat there without movement,” Trump said.
Trump further noted the recognition of Captain Royce Williams, a 100-year-old former Navy fighter pilot who received the Medal of Honor for actions during the Korean War.
“We gave him the Congressional Medal of Honor, 100 years old, and the Democrats sat there emotional, there’s no clapping, nobody standing. Republicans, you did very well. You were going wild for all of them,” Trump said.
According to the Medal of Honor citation, Williams led an engagement against multiple enemy aircraft in 1952, destroying several MiG-15s and protecting U.S. forces.
Trump also referenced Chief Warrant Officer Eric Slover, who was recognized for actions during a January mission targeting Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
“Slover planned the mission and was the flight lead in the cockpit of the first helicopter,” Trump said, describing how he was injured but continued the mission.
According to the citation, Slover maintained control of the aircraft under heavy fire and enabled U.S. forces to complete the mission safely.
Trump continued his remarks by accusing Democrats of changing their behavior later in the speech after reacting to public perception.
“Now, at the end of the evening, they were clapping on everything I said because they were called in by people watching on television. Did you see they were passing around notes, and they were saying, ‘You guys are being killed tonight! Start clapping!’ And they were clapping for everything, everything I said, even good Republican things, they were clapping wildly, but it was too late,” Trump said.
He also criticized Democrats broadly, stating, “They’re just creating chaos. They want to create chaos. It’s all they’re good at, creating chaos. They can’t do policy, no good.”
Trump added that Democrats oppose his administration’s military efforts and immigration policies, claiming they seek to shift focus away from what he described as successful operations.
“Our country’s at stake. Really, our country’s at stake. These people are crazy that we’re dealing with,” Trump said.
The State of the Union address referenced by Trump included recognition of individuals impacted by crime as well as members of the U.S. military, which he highlighted again during his NRCC remarks.
