Trump offers soaring praise for Marco Rubio as he grades Cabinet picks

President Donald Trump is dishing up his thoughts on the job performances of some of his Cabinet members.

Despite the relentless media attacks on his Cabinet picks, Trump is overwhelmingly pleased with those like Education Secretary Linda McMahon, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Watch:

“[She’s] great,” he said of McMahon. “And I’ll tell you a little bit surprising because, you know, Linda’s sort of a quiet person. … And you know what she’s really doing? It’s not just the Harvard stuff. The more important is that she’s bringing education back to the states. The states are going to take education. She’s done a great job.”

When asked about Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Trump called him “one of the most successful people in the entire world of energy.”

“I was told ‘You’ll never get him, you’ll never get him.’ Doug Burgum was the one who recommended him, I was gonna use Doug,” the president revealed. “I would say Chris, just great expertise. Great talent.”

Rubio was next to receive a gold star from Trump.

“Born for this job. He was born for this job. You know, we had a really nasty campaign, 2016 campaign, a little on the nasty side, and yet I really respected him. I thought he was a great debater, I thought he was very smart, he had a lot of things, but you know, you’re fighting somebody. He’s just a great guy, and he did something else that’s amazing, he got essentially 100 votes … He got unanimous on both sides. So he was able to get along with the radical left and you could say the radical right. He was able to get along with everybody, he’s a very talented guy, Marco, and we’re really happy. But I think he was born for that job.”

When asked about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Trump had a glowing review.

“Has a soothing way that’s unbelievable,” the president said. “He’s got a great way about him and very highly respected.”

Noem also received epic praise for her job with the southern border.

“I mean look at the border. Now, she worked with Tom Homan so that’s a big advantage, but she’s done a fantastic job. She’s been great.”

RFK Jr. was next up.

“One of the most popular people, I don’t know. If I did a poll he might be one of the most popular,” Trump stated. “It’s very simple with him, he wants to make America healthy again. You know, when you look at some of the things like childhood diseases, and all sorts of things that didn’t exist 25 years ago, it’s certainly not in the numbers. No, he’s working very hard to make our country healthy again.”

As for Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the president couldn’t say enough good things:

She’s become a star. It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move. They move like she’s a machine gun- Is she in the room? She’s a star. And she’s great, she’s a great person actually. I don’t think anybody’s ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing.
