President Donald Trump removed Attorney General Pam Bondi from her position on Thursday, marking the second major cabinet shakeup of his second term, as reported by The New York Post.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced the change while outlining plans for Bondi’s transition out of the administration.
“We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much-needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General,” Trump wrote.

According to a source with knowledge of the conversation, Trump informed Bondi in person on Wednesday that she was being dismissed.
Bondi had been at the White House that same day to attend Trump’s address to the nation regarding the Iran war.
Earlier, she accompanied the president to the Supreme Court, where oral arguments were heard in a significant case involving birthright citizenship.
Despite the circumstances, one attendee who interacted with Bondi during the primetime address described her as “cheerful” as the change loomed.

The decision follows ongoing frustration within the White House over Bondi’s handling of issues tied to the Jeffrey Epstein files, as well as efforts to prosecute political opponents.
One administration official said Trump had been discussing Bondi’s departure for “quite some time and it reached the definitive point yesterday afternoon.”
By Thursday afternoon, Bondi had returned to Florida and continued promoting a Department of Justice initiative related to child identification programs.
In her first public remarks following the announcement, Bondi addressed the transition and her future plans.
“I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration,” she said.
Bondi also reflected on her tenure, stating, “Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime.”
She pointed to achievements during her time in office, including efforts to reduce the murder rate and prosecute Antifa members and drug cartel figures.
Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration.…
