Trump Reveals What Advice He’ll Give Zelenskyy

President Donald Trump revealed on Fox News Friday what advice he’ll give Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy when they meet.

Trump suggested Friday that he, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Zelenskyy will meet. In an interview on “Hannity,” host Sean Hannity asked what advice the president would give Zelenskyy, and Trump, without hesitation, answered.

“Make a deal. Gotta make a deal,” Trump said.

Trump then praised Russia’s strength and power.

“Russia’s a very big power. And they’re [Ukraine] not. They’re great soldiers. But, you know, they also had the best equipment. You know, they had our equipment. And I gave them javelins, if you remember, in my first term,” Trump said.

In 2017, Trump approved a plan to send Ukraine heavy weapons, including Javelin anti-tank missiles, administration officials said Friday. The move significantly escalated U.S. military support for Kyiv’s fight against Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Trump said in May that negotiations for a peace talk would start after a two-hour call with Putin, but Putin resisted engaging with Ukraine. By July, Trump rolled out a plan to arm Ukraine with offensive weapons and threatened Russia with “severe” sanctions and tariffs, giving Putin 50 days to negotiate. On July 28, he cut the deadline to just “10 or 12 days” and reaffirmed his pledge to impose sweeping secondary tariffs and sanctions on key Russian industries. In a final push, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Putin for three hours to discuss potential peace talks.

Trump and Putin gave an update Friday on Ukraine-Russia peace talks, with Trump saying they made progress on several points but had yet to finalize a deal. He said he plans to brief NATO leaders and Zelenskyy on the Alaska summit discussions.
