Trump’s Secret Weapon Deserves a World Record | The American Spectator

Here, revealed at last, is President Donald J. Trump’s secret weapon: The man has cojones the size of the Las Vegas Sphere.

Trump does not pick the easy fights. Too many Republicans are happy to cut a tax or two, sign a few proclamations, and call it a day. Why challenge the Left? They might push back. Political fights? Oooh, messy. No, thanks. Let’s be friends.

This battered-wife approach (“The Left beats me because they love me”) defined such GOP invertebrates as Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, both presidents Bush, and too many governors and state lawmakers to count.

Unlike these weaklings, Trump does not avoid battles. He dominates them with Gatling guns ablaze. Even more so in his second term, Trump is compiling victories as Democrats fail to foil a Republican who is unburdened by general, unfocused fear.

Trump’s takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police department is just such an initiative. Most Republicans would lack the courage to confront Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser. Only Trump would imagine running the DCPD via his Justice Department.

Trump’s move so floored Bowser that she sounds conciliatory and even hopes that the City Council will ditch D.C.’s sanctuary-city status. This is as close as Democrats get to eating out of Trump’s hand.

“Over 160 illegal aliens have been arrested, including known gang members and those with additional charges: assault, kidnapping, burglary, larceny, commercialized sexual offenses, smuggling illegal drugs like heroin, and more,” a White House official told the Daily Caller on Monday. “Last night 22 multi-agency teams were deployed throughout all 7 districts in D.C. There were more than 1,950 participants in last night’s operations.”

The results already are in.

According to a Monday morning D.C. Police Union X post, “DC crime since the announcement of federal control versus the 7 days prior:

• Robbery: Down 46%
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon: Down 6%
• Carjacking: Down 83%
• Car Theft: Down 21%
• Violent Crime: Down 22%
• Property Crime: Down 6%
• All Crimes: Down 8%

“Turns out you can just start arresting criminals and scare them out of victimizing innocent people,” Senator Mike Lee (R– Utah) observed via X. “Did the DC Council know that was an option?”

“Washington, DC is getting safer every night, thanks to our law enforcement partners,” Attorney General Pam Bondi stated Monday via X. “Just this weekend, 137 arrests were made, and 21 illegal firearms were seized. In total, there have been nearly 400 arrests — and we are not slowing down.”

“Friends are calling me up, Democrats are calling me up, and they’re saying, ‘Sir, I want to thank you. My wife and I went out to dinner last night for the first time in four years. And Washington, D.C. is safe. And you did that in four days,’” Trump told journalists in the Oval Office Monday afternoon. “The restaurants the last two days were busier than they’ve been in a long time.”

An additional 150 National Guardsmen from Ohio, 200 from South Carolina, and some 350 more from West Virginia are joining the National Guard boots already on the ground in the nation’s capital. Mission: Increase the peace.

Trump’s Census-reform efforts are equally brash. Republicans have watched Democrat governors count illegal aliens as state residents. These swollen populations gave California, Illinois, New York, and other Democrat states additional U.S. House seats, more Electoral College votes, and bonus federal dollars for highways, education, and healthcare — all by corruptly including illegals among the citizens and legal immigrants who should be enumerated. (RELATED: Make the Census Great Again: Stop Counting Illegal Aliens)

Trump said: No mas! As he declared on August 7, via Truth Social: “People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS.”

Democrats will resist. They will insist that people who invaded America should be included when deciding each state’s sway in the U.S. House and Electoral College. This will expose, once and for all, Democrats’ true motive for demolishing America’s borders: To bolster their power by all means necessary.

Rather than merely slow illegal border crossings, Trump has the brass simply to padlock the Southern frontier. Trump swiftly accomplished the impossible.

Compare the 7,832 Southwestern border incursions under Trump in July 2025 to 213,593 in July 2021, under Joe Biden: Down 96 percent.

July was “the third consecutive month with zero US Border Patrol releases into the interior,” the Department of Homeland Security reported. “President Trump didn’t just manage the crisis — he obliterated it,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. “No more excuses. No more releases.”

Even better news: “In less than 200 days, 1.6 MILLION illegal immigrants have left the United States population,” Noem announced Thursday. “This is massive. This means safer streets, taxpayer savings, pressure off of schools and hospital services, and better job opportunities for Americans. Thank you, President Trump!”

The average congressman represents 761,169 constituents. So, these 1.6 million vanished illegal aliens equal 2.1 congressional districts. This fact alone underscores the need for a mid-decade Census update and reapportionment, untainted by illegal aliens.

Previous presidents have merely lost sleep over Mexico’s über-violent cartels. The Jalisco, Sinaloa, and other cartels are de facto narco-dictatorships — crime-fueled fiefdoms within Mexico. President Claudia Sheinbaum yielded to Trump’s pressure on August 13. She extradited 26 cartel kingpins to America, atop 29 others, in February. Once tried, convicted, and imprisoned, they and their firearms and fentanyl will no longer jeopardize American safety, health, and lives.

Previous presidents have pursued peace, namely among the U.S. and key players with whom America shared high stakes, such as China, Russia, and Israel. As for smaller blazes, let them burn.

Trump went his own way: After securing four first-term Abraham Accords between Israel and its former enemies, Trump 47 has united nations to end disputes, cease fires, and sign full-blown peace treaties. So far, he has accomplished this with Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Egypt and Ethiopia, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cambodia and Thailand, and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

On Friday, Trump was in Alaska, trying to bring peace to Russia and Ukraine. According to NBC News’s Alexander Smith, Russian President Vladimir Putin “said the Trump Administration is making ‘quite energetic and sincere efforts to stop the fighting, stop the crisis, and reach agreements that are of interest to all parties involved in this conflict.’”

Trump began this week with an extraordinary trans-Atlantic effort. At the White House on Monday, he hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

As they arrived, these world leaders were greeted by an unusually colorful display of diplomatic protocol. Stoic Marines bore the flags of these nations as their respective heads of government converged on the White House for these crucial discussions.

While no armistice emerged from Monday’s international huddle, most observers expect that this high-level encounter will increase the momentum towards an ultimate settlement of the three-and-a-half-year mutual hemorrhage between Russia and Ukraine — all thanks to Trump’s determined quest for olive branches.
