Two men, one with possible ties to Tren de Aragua, kidnap, torture and leave for dead 58-yr-old woman

Two men, one with possible ties to Tren de Aragua, kidnapped, tortured, and then left for dead a 58-year-old woman in Washington State.

The kidnapping occurred around 10:00 pm late on Jan. 21st as the unnamed woman was arriving home from work, according to Seattle station KOMO.

Suspects Kevin Daniel Sanabria Ojeda, 24, and Alexander Moises Arnaez-Gutierrez, 25, forced the woman into a car and then began torturing her.

“They used a power drill to drill into (the victim’s) hand to get access to her cell phone and bank accounts,” investigators with the King County Sheriff’s Office wrote in their arrest report. “They then threatened her by telling her they were going to kill her, kill her family, feed her to the bears, and dump her body far away.”

Afterward, the two drove her to nearby Kittitas County, shot her, and then left her for dead on the side of I-90.

“They shot her on a mountain pass and left her for dead,” the arrest report says.

But the woman miraculously survived.

“(Victim) stated she ducked and was struck in the shoulder,” the arrest report reads. “(Victim) believes the suspect thought he had hit her in the head, so she yelled and played dead. Once the suspects left the area, (victim) climbed over what was later described as a jersey barrier and flagged down a passerby.”

The passerby took her to a nearby hospital, where she received treatment and spoke with investigators.

A week later, local authorities found Sanabria’s car at a motel in Illinois. After matching him to surveillance footage depicting the Washington State kidnapping suspects, the authorities moved and arrested him. In his hotel room, they found the victim’s jewelry.

“Post Miranda (rights), Sanabria stated that he participated in the kidnapping, vehicle theft, robbery, and killing of the ‘lady’ known [to] investigators as (victim),” the arrest report reads.

As for Arnaez-Gutierrez, he was finally nabbed this week during a traffic stop on Mercer Island. It’s now believed that he has “probable ties to Tren De Aragua,” the violent Venezuelan gang wreaking havoc across the United States.

“The facts of this case demonstrate a sophistication and pre-planning and a level of violence that is alarming,” King County Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jennifer Phillips said in a statement.

Sanabria and Arnaez-Gutierrez are both being held at the King County Jail on a bond of $1 million each.

“The FBI routinely supports law enforcement with investigative assistance when requested, and we were proud to partner with the King County Sheriff’s Office in this matter,” the FBI told KOMO following the two men’s apprehension.

“The FBI brings a number of resources to an investigation to include personnel, technology, and other specialized tools. Combatting violent crime in the communities where we live and work is one of the top priorities for the FBI,” the agency continued.

Responding to the two men’s horrible crimes, conservative critics on Twitter/X wondered how long it’ll be before the left starts sticking up for them.
