Two SoCal medical workers charged for ‘assaulting’ ICE agent during illegal alien arrest

Viral video of California medical workers allegedly attempting to obstruct immigration officers found them facing their own charges as law and order was “unapologetically” pursued.

Egged on by activists, dark money groups and often leftist political figures, open border advocates have repeatedly taken it upon themselves to interfere with the operations conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and others. Friday, such physical support for lawlessness placed two medical workers under arrest with federal charges for “assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal agents.”

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli out of the Central District of California shared the video where 38-year-old Jose de Jesus Ortega and 33-year-old Danielle Nadine Davila, both since taken into custody, were said to be the individuals wearing scrubs, placing themselves between an illegal alien Honduran national and an ICE agent, even appearing to push the official during the July 8 incident at Ontario Advanced Surgery Center outside Los Angeles.

“The media originally reported that the illegal alien was taken during a medical appointment. That was false,” said Essayli. “The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient. He ran inside for cover and these defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you work, if you assault our agents or otherwise interfere with our operations, you will be arrested and charged with a federal crime.”

Further reporting on the details, Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin posted to X, “I’m told JOSE DE JESUS ORTEGA and DANIELLE NADINE DAVILA have both been charged with violations of 18 USC 111 (assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal agents). Both have a criminal arrest warrant signed off on by a federal judge.”

Citing the federal agents, Melugin reported that the Honduran landscaper had allegedly approached the facility while fleeing immigration officials. According to their report, during the attempt to detain the alien, employees of the surgery center pulled the man inside to aid his escape from ICE before endeavoring to physically block the arrest.

“This story is another example of a false narrative peddled by irresponsible members of the media in furtherance of a political agenda to delegitimize federal agents,” Essayli had contended before later sharing his appearance on “America Reports” with Melugin under the caption, “I can’t be anymore clear. If anyone touches our agents or gets in our way, you will be arrested and charged with a federal crime.”

The attorney also detailed that his office had filed 50 such cases since June 6 “and we will continue to do that unapologetically.”

That position comes as earlier this month, President Donald Trump had given his “total authorization” to law enforcement on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so.”

This included 39-year-old Elpidio Reyna, arrested for allegedly throwing rocks at federal officers during the June riots in Los Angeles. As Florida’s Voice Assistant News Director, Eric Daugherty put it, “FAFO. It doesn’t fly under 47.”
