A United Airlines flight returning to the gate at Newark Liberty International Airport on Nov. 10 ended with an unruly passenger being removed after a profanity-laced confrontation with a flight attendant, as reported by The New York Post.
The incident, recorded by a fellow traveler, has drawn significant attention online, amassing nearly 500,000 views on TikTok.

According to the witness who filmed the exchange, the flight to Charleston, South Carolina, had already faced extensive delays — three hours before boarding and another hour and a half on the tarmac.
The combination of delays and passenger frustration set the stage for the confrontation.
In the video, a blond woman seated at the window attempts to step into the aisle. As she moves, she crosses paths with a flight attendant. The crew member steps aside, and the traveler begins to complain.

“I’m getting up. I’m allowed to stand up. When you keep us on the tarmac for an hour, I’m allowed to stand up,” the woman says. The flight attendant responds that it is “not a problem.”
“Not a problem at all. Really, not a problem for me to want to f*cking stand. F*cking cu*ts,” the passenger continues as the crew member walks away.
The woman then notices she is being recorded and immediately goes quiet. Passengers seated nearby remain silent as the incident unfolds.
The TikTok user later posted an explanation describing the atmosphere as “collective exhaustion” and said the woman “started spiraling” after repeatedly yelling the same profanity.
Passengers seated near her attempted to calm her down without success.

Another traveler sitting beside her reportedly asked her to “please chill,” which escalated the situation. The witness said the woman began telling people to kill themselves and launched into a monologue about her personal struggles.
A man seated behind the witness then said, “We all have somewhere to be; my mom’s funeral is tomorrow,” which briefly shifted the tone in the cabin but did not stop the outburst.
According to the witness, the crew arranged for several larger male passengers to sit next to the woman for safety concerns. She was eventually removed from the aircraft.
“She put her sunglasses on [while being escorted off] and started going, ‘Thank God,’” the witness said.
Despite the disruption, the TikTok poster praised the crew, saying the flight attendants “were actual angels” and that other passengers “stayed calm.”
The travel delays occurred during the early-November period of the federal government’s record shutdown, which impacted staffing levels at airports across the country and contributed to widespread slowdowns.
