The Justice Department announced it was getting involved in investigating the brutal Cincinnati beating as Vivek Ramaswamy revealed a stunning detail about his contact with the victim.
Over the weekend, a viral video out of Cincinnati sparked outrage, not only for the wanton violence brought upon two white people by a mob of mostly black assailants, but also for the deafening silence from corporate media. Monday, as it was reported that Attorney General Pam Bondi called for FBI involvement in the case, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, the female victim had yet to hear from any state or local official by the time he spoke with her.
In a post on X that had since garnered nearly 3.5 million views, the Ohio Republican gubernatorial hopeful wrote, “I spoke to Holly earlier today (the woman tragically assaulted in Cincinnati this weekend). She’s a single working mom who went to a friend’s birthday party. It’s unconscionable that there were no police present in that area of Cincinnati on a Friday night, or even an ambulance to take her to the hospital.”
“Hard-working Americans shouldn’t have to worry for their safety when they have a good time in our cities. Holly said not a single local or state official had yet reached out as of earlier this afternoon, other than one police detective,” added Ramaswamy.

He went on, “Leftists like to lecture about ‘systemic injustice’ while thugs turn our … cities into war zones. I’m done with their excuses. As governor, I’ll make sure they’re behind bars, not running wild. Our cops will have the green light to restore order–no apologies. Holly appreciates the kind words and prayers from patriots across the country, and hopes that the publicity around her story ensures that local & state leaders clean up our failing cities. We hope to visit Holly soon as she recovers.”
Similarly, Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno (R) had shared a report from Florida’s Voice Assistant News Director Eric Daugherty that Bondi had “ordered the FBI to GET INVOLVED in the incident” and that the agency was “ALREADY conducting interviews with suspects, and investigating. YES. LAY DOWN THE HAMMER. It’s UNREAL how much federal involvement was required here. The authorities only named suspects after [Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon] called them out.”
Moreno reacted, “It’s FAFO time for these derelicts and there is no better person to ensure justice than @AGPamBondi! The do-nothing extreme liberal Mayor @AftabPureval won’t lift a finger to protect his streets and restore order, so it’s time to bring in professionals who will.”

While Bondi thanked Moreno for putting her in touch with the victim, Dhillon and posted to X, “Our federal hate crimes laws apply to ALL Americans. We @CivilRights will monitor closely how local authorities handle this attack. Nobody in our great nation should be the victim of such a crime, and where race is a motivation, federal law may apply.”
Likewise, Cory Bowman, a Republican challenger to Pureval who is also Vice President J.D. Vance’s half-brother, decried the incumbent in addition to releasing a statement calling for the resignation of Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long and a review of her appointments to address immediate issues plaguing the city ahead of voters getting a say in the fall.
“Cincinnati deserves clean, safe, and prosperous streets,” read the statement in part. We cannot wait until November’s elections. Immediate action is needed to show residents and businesses that these intolerable conditions will be addressed swiftly. Without such action, more valued businesses and residents may leave our neighborhoods.”
