A passenger was arrested Friday after a chaotic confrontation with an off-duty federal officer erupted during boarding on a Southwest Airlines flight at Miami International Airport, as reported by The New York Post.
Authorities say the incident involved Marcial Martinez, 32, who allegedly became disruptive during boarding and eventually charged at an officer with the U.S. Department of Energy who was attempting to calm the situation.
The altercation occurred as passengers were boarding a Denver-bound Southwest Airlines flight on Friday afternoon, according to NBC Miami.

Video footage circulating online captured the moment the confrontation escalated inside the aircraft cabin.
According to reports, the situation began after Martinez got into a verbal argument with his wife while boarding the plane. As the dispute intensified, the off-duty officer intervened in an apparent attempt to de-escalate the situation.

Moments later, Martinez allegedly rushed toward the officer.
The video shows Martinez launching himself toward the man, who is significantly taller. The officer was pushed backward during the initial contact, but remained upright as Martinez continued the confrontation.
Footage shows Martinez wrapping his arms around the officer’s waist while shouting. Despite the sudden attack, the officer maintained his balance and resisted the push.
The officer eventually gained control of the situation and forced Martinez against a wall inside the aircraft, according to the footage obtained by NBC Miami.
The maneuver prevented Martinez from continuing to swing or flail his arms during the struggle.
A second video angle showed events that appeared to unfold shortly before the physical confrontation.
In that footage, Martinez can be seen leaning around the armed officer while calling out to his wife and urging her to leave the plane with him.
The officer remained standing in the aisle between Martinez and the woman while communicating with flight attendants.
