JD Vance played this very well!
An alumni of Ohio State University, Vice President JD Vance was excited to meet up with the college’s football team Monday as the Buckeyes visited the White House in celebration of their national championship.
And not just that, but he got to interact with them in quite the unique way as he actually needed a few of the Buckeyes’ help as he nearly dropped the championship trophy. The scene took place on the lawn of the White House.
Following each Vance, President Donald Trump and OSU head coach Ryan Day speaking a little bit regarding the success of the Buckeyes in the 2024 season, the team had a photo session. Afterwards, Vance got the chance to lift up the College Football Playoff championship trophy. (RELATED: Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee Gives Insight Into President Trump’s Game)
But there was a problem: Vance wasn’t aware that the actual trophy and its black base were separate, so when he picked it up, he nearly dropped it because of the awkwardness of the trophy.
Fortunately for Vance, Day and Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson were there to help him with the near-fumble. And from there, Vance got to lift the trophy without its base and the photo op carried on.
Afterwards, Vance took to Twitter and gave a hilarious response to the situation.
“I didn’t want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy so I decided to break it,” posted Vance.
