Political analyst Victor Davis Hanson gave a pointed analysis on Fox News Friday of former Vice President Kamala Harris’ and former President Joe Biden’s respective impacts on the Democratic Party.
During an appearance on “Jesse Watters: Primetime,” guest host Charlie Hurt asked Hanson who poses a greater risk to the party, Harris or Biden. Hanson didn’t hesitate to suggest it’s Harris. Hanson said that while Biden’s cognitive decline may be attributed to age and inevitable physical decline, Harris’s inability to communicate coherently is more troubling.
“Joe Biden has a time limit, a shelf life on him, that he’s not going to be active very long, but she’s going to be here for a while,” Hanson said. “And his favor is that he can plead that his cognitive decline is organic, it’s age-related, or it’s something. I don’t want to diagnose him, but when she speaks she’s incoherent and there’s no reason of age or physical impairment.”
Hanson didn’t hold back criticizing Harris and described her as a liability to the Democratic Party.

“She just can’t speak. And she knows she can’t speak. And every time she speaks, she knows that people think she can’t speak. So she tries to speak, and she fulfills everybody’s lowest expectations. And so there’s no reason,” Hanson said.
Hanson then delved into Biden’s communication struggles.
“You just say Joe is just incoherent. Nobody knows what he’s saying. The only time he comes animate and alive is when he mentions Trump. Then for brief spasms, he gets angry and shouts at Donald Trump,” Hanson said. “He’s got this furor against it. And then the clarity, such as it is, dissipates within a few seconds.”
Harris said Wednesday that she would not run for California governor but left open the possibility of a 2028 presidential bid. In her statement, she expressed enthusiasm about working to “help elect Democrats” across the country and teased that she would reveal more about her future plans in the coming months.
In the 2020 presidential race, the former vice president lost all seven battleground states and the popular vote to President Donald Trump. During her own bid for the presidency that year, Harris garnered only 844 votes in the Democratic primary and secured zero delegates, according to archived election data.
