Vikings’ Max Brosmer Makes One Of Ugliest Rookie Mistakes You Will Ever See

As a wise man (Homer Simpson) once said … “D’oh!”

Rookie quarterback Max Brosmer committed a classic first-year blunder, and it spelled immediate chaos for the Minnesota Vikings.

Near the end of the second quarter in a 4th-and-1 situation at the Seattle Seahawks’ 4-yard line, Brosmer snapped the ball and instantly felt the heat as defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence crashed in while Brosmer was rolling right. With the pocket collapsing and nowhere to go, the rookie forced a desperate play — and it backfired spectacularly. As Lawrence hauled him down, Brosmer panic-flung a blind underhand flip toward the end zone. The ball died in the air almost immediately, dropping like a gift into the hands of Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who raced 85 yards untouched for the score. In a single, crushing instant, the Vikings’ chance to tie it at 3-3 or seize a 7-3 lead vanished. Instead, they were suddenly staring at a 10-0 hole.

“Oh no!” shouted FOX play-by-play broadcaster Joe Davis, and I’m sure plenty of Minnesota fans.

When I first saw this clip, I was completely flabbergasted. Like, how on earth do you make that kind of mistake?

I get that he’s a rookie, I get that I’m playing quarterback from the keyboard, but I feel pretty confident I wouldn’t just fling the ball like that.

Put me in a uniform, Minnesota. I’ll show you. (And I prefer direct deposit)
